JENNIE, from K-Pop group BLACKPINK, releases her highly anticipated debut solo album “Ruby”, featuring collaborations with artists such as Dua Lipa, Childish Gambino and Kali Uchis
BLACKPINK member JENNIE has finally released her long-awaited debut studio album, Ruby, through ODDATELIER/Columbia Records. With 15 tracks, the project brings an innovative sound and a mix of genres, including previously released singles such as “like JENNIE”, “ExtraL” (with Doechii), “Mantra”, “ZEN” and “Love Hangover” (with Dominic Fike). The work also features major collaborations, such as Childish Gambino, Dua Lipa, FKJ and Kali Uchis.
Regarding the album, JENNIE shared: “This album has great meaning for me, as it tells my story as a solo artist through my own voice and vision. Inspired by Shakespeare’s play As You Like It, it portrays themes of birth, love, faith and culmination. The opening of the theater curtains symbolizes the beginning of a new chapter in my musical career. Working on this album was a valuable process of growing as an artist and discovering my true voice.”
The song “like JENNIE” achieved great achievements by climbing Spotify’s global chart, entering the Top 10 with more than 4 million plays in 24 hours. With this, JENNIE broke two records: she became the Korean solo singer who placed the most songs in the Top 10 of the global chart, with “One of the Girls” (2nd place), “Mantra” (5th place) and “like JENNIE” (10th place). Additionally, Ruby became the first album by a solo Korean singer to place multiple songs in the Top 10 of Spotify’s global chart, with “Mantra” and “like JENNIE”.
To promote Ruby, JENNIE started her intimate concert series called The Ruby Experience. The tour kicked off in Los Angeles at the Peacock Theater on March 6 and headed to New York, where they performed at Radio City Music Hall on March 10. The next show will be in Seoul, at Inspire Arena, on March 15th.
Additionally, JENNIE is preparing for her solo debut at Coachella, where she will perform both weekends of the festival. The singer will also be honored at Billboard’s Women In Music event as a Global Force of 2025, a ceremony taking place at the YouTube Theater in Inglewood on March 29.
