Video arrives almost two years after the release of the album “PORTALS”
With two days to go until the two-year anniversary of her latest album, Melanie Martinez has released a video for “LEECHES”, one of the most intense tracks from “PORTALS”.
Melanie signs as director, but does not appear on the scene. In its place, we see a little girl who keeps a leech as a pet in a very cute atmosphere.
But make no mistake, the story takes a turn worthy of a horror film when the child grows up, just like his “friend”.
“LEECHES” arrives at the same time as a special vinyl edition of “PORTALS” is coming out. The crate arrives accompanied by a board game inspired by the record.
Melanie Adele Martinez is an American singer, songwriter, director and actress.
Melanie became known for her songs with controversial lyrics and her two-colored style and hair. His lyrics combine a dark side with his super sweet way. While in high school, she participated in school talent contests and open mic recitals at venues on Long Island, which was close to the singer’s hometown. She later participated in the third season of the North American edition of the singing competition The Voice, where she debuted singing “Toxic”, written by compatriot Britney Spears. Three of the four judges, Adam Levine, Blake Shelton and Cee Lo Green, pressed the choice button for her. Martinez chose Adam Levine to be her coach and left the show when there were only six contestants.
