Rapper saw peak in streams on Deezer
NCT’s Mark has released his first solo album, “The Firstfruit,” and the release resulted in a 2,254% increase in the rapper’s streams on Deezer.
Composed of 13 tracks, “The Firstfruit” features guest appearances by major Korean artists such as Crush, Lee Young Ji and HAECHAN.
Mark’s new work explores his personal and geographical trajectory, considering his experiences in Toronto, New York, Vancouver and Seoul, cities that were part of his personal and artistic formation.

Mark Lee is a Canadian singer, songwriter, and rapper of South Korean descent. He rose to worldwide prominence as a member of the boy group NCT (including its subunits NCT 127 and NCT Dream). In October 2019, Mark made his debut as a member of the supergroup SuperM, formed by SM Entertainment in partnership with Capitol Records.
Mark was introduced as part of SM Rookies in December 2013. From August to October 2014, he appeared on the show EXO 90:2014. In July 2015, he was cast in Disney Channel Korea’s The Mickey Mouse Club.
He debuted as a member of NCT, as part of the sub-unit NCT U, in April 2016 with the release of the single “The 7th Sense”, where he collaborated with the composition of the song’s lyrics. The sub-unit NCT 127 was introduced in July of the same year. The group’s first televised performance took place on July 7 on M Countdown, performing “Fire Truck” and “Once Again” from their first extended play, NCT #127, released days later, where he collaborated on the composition of the lyrics for “Fire Truck” and “Mad City”. NCT #127 entered at number 2 on the Gaon Album Chart in the issue dated July 10–16, 2016. In its third week, the EP topped the chart in the issue dated July 24–30, 2016. The EP also debuted at number 2 on Billboard’s World Album Chart. The mini-album entered and peaked at number 3 on the Gaon Album Chart for the month of July 2016, with over 60,000 copies sold. He debuted as a member of the sub-unit NCT Dream on August 24, 2016, with the release of the single “Chewing Gum”, where he collaborated on the composition of the song’s lyrics. The unit’s first televised performance took place the following day on Mnet’s M Countdown. In October 2016, he released the song “I Want to Enter Your Heart” with Henry Lau for the drama Sweet Stranger and Me.
