BLACKPINK trio shared reunion on social media
They’re in your area! Jennie, Lisa and Rosé met backstage at Coachella, in the United States, this Sunday (13). The moment was recorded by the singers on social media. In the images, Rosé congratulates Jennie for her performance at the festival and they exchange a hug and a twirl.
In another video, the three pose together for photos. During Jennie’s show, the two artists stood at the front of the stage, shouting and dancing for their friend. The BLACKPINK members will go on tour in 2025, with their first show on July 5 in South Korea.
Jisoo did not attend the first weekend of Coachella. The K-pop quartet performed at the festival in 2019 and 2023.
BLACKPINK is a South Korean girl group formed by YG Entertainment, consisting of Jisoo, Jennie, Rosé and Lisa. The quartet debuted in August 2016 with the single album Square One, which features the singles “Boombayah” and “Whistle”.
Blackpink is the most successful Korean girl group internationally and has often been dubbed “the biggest girl group in the world”. They are the highest-charting Korean female act on the Billboard Hot 100, peaking at number 13 with “Ice Cream” (2020), and on the Billboard 200, peaking at number one with “Born Pink”, which also set the record for the best-selling album by a Korean girl group and was the first to sell over two million copies. They were the first Korean girl group to top Billboard’s Artist 100 and the first Korean girl group to enter and top Billboard’s Emerging Artists chart. Blackpink was also the first Korean female act to receive a certification from the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA) for their single “Ddu-Du Ddu-Du” (2018), whose music video was the first by a Korean group to surpass one billion views and is currently the most-viewed by a Korean group on YouTube. Their 2018 song “Kiss and Make Up”, a collaboration with Dua Lipa, was the first by a Korean group to receive a certification from the British Phonographic Industry (BPI)[5] and the first song by a Korean group to be certified platinum by the Australian Recording Industry Association (ARIA). Born Pink was the first album by a K-pop girl group in history to reach number one on the Billboard 200, as well as the UK Albums Chart. The album’s lead single “Pink Venom” was also the first song by a Korean group to top the ARIA Singles Chart in 2022.
