SB19 will be giving everyone a deeper look into their lives through their new podcast, “Time First.”
Now available on Spotify, the video podcast is inspired by the Filipino slang term “taympers,” which means “time off.” The kings of P-Pop promise to have vulnerable conversations about their lives behind the scenes.
In the debut episode, “Taympers,” SB19 opens up about their journey and the sacrifices they’ve made as artists.
“From difficult beginnings to career-defining moments, this is their chance to pause, look back, and reflect not on the stories you’ve heard or seen… but the ones they’ve lived,” the description reads.
“Time First” is SB19’s second podcast, following “Atin Atin Lang,” which aired from 2023 to 2024.
The group will kick off their “Simula at Wakas” world tour with a two-night show at the Philippine Arena in Bulacan on May 31 and June 1. Following the Bulacan shows, SB19 will embark on their 18-city world tour across Asia Pacific, the Middle East and North America. SB19 released their comeback single, “DAM,” in February. It is a track from their upcoming EP, “Simula at Wakas,” which will be released on April 25.
MEET SB19, THE GREAT FILIPINO GROUP
SB19 is a Filipino boy band formed in 2018, consisting of Pablo, Josh, Stell, Ken, and Justin. They are recognized as one of the biggest names in Pinoy pop. They are managed by 1Z Entertainment and have their music distributed by Sony Music Philippines. In 2021, they became the first Southeast Asian act to be nominated for a Billboard Music Awards in the Top Social Artist category and the first from the region to appear in the top 10 of the Billboard Social 50.
In 2016, ShowBT Philippines, a subsidiary of the Korean company ShowBT Group, held a talent search with the goal of localizing K-pop in other Asian countries.
Applicants underwent rigorous training modeled after the South Korean model, including physical fitness and “personality development.” Trainees who did not meet the standards were dismissed, until the final seven members were chosen. Training continued with workdays of more than nine hours a day; of the seven members, Stell remained with ShowBT, three dropped out, and Pablo, Josh, and Justin left but changed their minds and returned. Ken, a previous applicant, also joined the group. These five became the current members of SB19. Pablo—originally known as Sejun—is the band’s leader.
