It comes a lot! Singer Ed Sheeran released a new single this Friday (04) and it’s giving people something to talk about. That’s right! The current track is called “Azizam” and is now available on digital platforms.
And the news doesn’t stop there! Furthermore, the song has also been accompanied by an exclusive clip, which shows Ed Sheeran walking through the streets next to a pink balloon.
When announcing the single, Ed Sheeran also explained the title of the track, which means “my love” in Persian, and told more details about the process of creating the single.
I wrote ‘Azizam’ after Ilya Salmanzadeh [composer] suggested trying to make music inspired by his Persian heritage and culture. I love learning about music and different cultures the more I travel and connect with people. It was like opening a door to a completely new and exciting world. I loved how many of the rhythms, scales, melodies and instruments were different but similar to the traditional Irish music I grew up with. It showed me that music connects us all and that it truly is a universal language,” he said.
It is also worth mentioning that “Azizam” should be part of Ed Sheeran’s next album, which has already been confirmed by the singer. Called “Play”, the album has not yet had an official release date announced and arrives after “Autumn Variations”, released in September 2023, also promising to be the Brit’s great return to pop.
Remembering that, currently, the redhead is on a world tour with the “Mathematics Tour”. The show schedule started in 2022 and has confirmed dates until September this year.
