BTS artist achieves unprecedented milestone in South Korea with the success of the single “Who”
BTS member Jimin has just achieved a historic feat on Spotify, reaffirming his position as one of the most influential solo artists in K-pop. The singer has now reached an impressive 90 consecutive weeks at the top of South Korea’s Weekly Top Artists chart — an all-time record for a South Korean solo artist.
The milestone was recorded in the platform’s most recent update, dated April 4, and makes Jimin the first solo artist in history to dominate the South Korean weekly rankings for so long. Since his solo debut with the track “With You” in April 2022, the artist has consistently appeared on the charts, totaling 139 weeks of presence, 90 of them in first place.
Much of Jimin’s impressive performance on the platforms is due to the resounding success of “Who”, a single from his second solo album MUSE. The song, despite the support of traditional promotional campaigns, debuted directly at the top of Spotify’s Korea Daily Top Songs chart and remained in the lead for 259 consecutive days – a number that could still increase, as the track remains in first place in the most recent update on April 3.
In addition, “Who” has maintained the top spot on the Weekly Top Songs chart for 37 consecutive weeks, confirming its status as one of the most popular songs in the South Korean scene today.
In the Daily Top Artists ranking, which measures the daily performance of artists in the country, Jimin also reigns supreme. He extended his own record, reaching first place for the 613th time, another feat that solidifies his relevance as a soloist and his strong connection with the local public.
Jimin: BTS remains huge, even on hiatus
Although the members of BTS are temporarily away from their group activities due to mandatory military enlistment in South Korea, the popularity of the septet remains unshakable. Even on hiatus since 2022, the group has already surpassed the 1 billion streams mark on Spotify in the first three months of 2025 alone — an unprecedented feat for a Korean group that is no longer active.
Currently, BTS maintains around 24.3 million monthly listeners on the platform. Among his most listened to tracks are the global hits “Dynamite”, “FAKE LOVE”, “Boy With Luv”, “Butter”, “Life Goes On” and “Spring Day”.
With a return scheduled for 2025, after the last members are discharged from military service by June, BTS promises a grand comeback. In the meantime, the members continue to forge individual paths of success — and Jimin, with his cascading records, is consolidating himself as one of the biggest forces in Korean pop music on the global stage.
