After releasing a teaser on TikTok, Lorde reveals the title of her comeback song. Stay tuned!
Lorde is back. The New Zealand singer, who created a TikTok profile to warm up the public for her return, has finally revealed the title of her new song. It’s called “What Was That”. The reveal was made in a post on Instagram. The artist has really returned to social media.
As for the single’s release date, Lorde didn’t say anything. She simply said that it will be released “soon.” The song could be released on digital platforms next Friday (4/18), the day of music releases worldwide. But this is just a hypothesis.
This week, Lorde also sent an audio message to fans on her WhatsApp channel, in which she talked about her time at the Coachella Festival and her upcoming release. “It felt so real and so solid. I can feel everything I left behind to be here the way I am now. I was like, ‘It’s getting dark, I’m in the desert, enjoy it, girl.’” she said.
“I just wanted to say hi because everything is about to change. These are the last moments where it’s just us. Which is crazy. But it makes perfect sense. I’m so ready,” she added.
Lorde’s new album:
She has been working on the follow-up to “Solar Power” since 2023. “It takes me a long time. I do a lot of research, I write a lot. A lot of the work (starts) before I actually start writing music. It’s been super exciting and I’m excited about what’s to come,” she told Ensemble magazine.
A curious fact is that there is a four-year gap between all of the artist’s albums. The first, “Pure Heroine,” came out in 2013. The second, “Melodrama,” in 2017. The third, “Solar Power,” in 2021. The fourth is expected in 2025.
