Now it’s on? Jimin, a member of BTS, is currently serving his mandatory military service in South Korea, while Jin and J-Hope are the only members of the kpop group to have completed their obligations to the country.
The singer enlisted on December 12, 2023, along with Jung Kook. They joined the army one day after V and RM. Now, Jimin’s fans have started counting down the days. That’s because Jimin is expected to leave the army along with Jung Kook on June 11, 2025.
While in the military, Jimin released the album “Muse,” which was boosted by the success of “Who.” The singer broke records on the Billboard Brazil charts with the track.
In August 2024, Jimin also spoke about his time in the military, once he completed mandatory training: “It hasn’t been long, but I already miss you all so much. I’ve been using the payphone to call the members to ask how they’re doing, and Jungkook is also working hard on his military duties.”
Park Ji-min is a South Korean singer and dancer. Jimin rose to worldwide prominence as a member of the boy band BTS (also known as the Bangtan Boys), formed in 2013. In 2018, he was awarded the Hwagwan Order of Cultural Merit, Fifth Class by South Korean President Moon Jae-in. Jimin set a record and a new milestone for Korean singers with the songs “Lie” (2016), “Intro: Serendipity” (2017), and “Serendipity (Full Length Edition)” (2018), reaching 50 million streams on Spotify in 2019 with each song.
Jimin released his debut solo album, Face, in 2023. It debuted atop the charts in South Korea and Japan, and at number two in the United States, while its second single, “Like Crazy”, debuted at number one on the Billboard Hot 100. He is the highest-charting Korean soloist in Billboard 200 history, and the first to reach number one on the Hot 100.
